Doing Less, Allowing More: The Real (Inner) Work
Reflecting @ Ale’s Stenar in Österlen, Sweden
Question for you: Do you know what the opposite of depression is?
(It’s not happiness.)
It’s expression.
In a world that constantly pushes productivity and performance, where being busy is worn like a badge, we forget the power of stillness, the wisdom in silence, the medicine of unstructured time.
We’re taught that if we’re not doing something measurable, we’re wasting time.
But what if the real waste is abandoning ourselves to keep checking boxes?
Lately, I’ve been feeling something different.
Not a desire to do more, but a pull to do less.
To remove things from my list—not add to it.
I had big plans for a Summer Series. I poured time, energy, and heart into it.
But truthfully, it didn’t land the way I imagined…and that’s okay.
Because deep down, I realized:
I don’t need another offering to perform.
I don’t need more work to avoid my (Inner) Work.
I need space.
To feel.
To heal.
To be with my family of origin, and allow old wounds to surface—and maybe soften.
So instead of pushing forward, I’m stepping inward.
Here’s my invitation to you:
Let this be the month you make space not for performance, but for truth.
Not for productivity, but for expression.
Let’s not add.
Let’s allow.
That’s how we begin to come alive again.
To Powerful, Positive Change…Cheers,
Adela
